Becoming a Trendyol Seller 2026: Application, Costs, First Month
Pazaryeri Bot - 15.05.2026
Documents required for a Trendyol seller application, the commission and shipping cost structure, how shipping time affects your rating, and common new-seller mistakes.
To sell on Trendyol you must be a registered taxpayer — as a sole proprietorship, limited company or joint-stock company — and apply through Trendyol Partner. The application requires a tax certificate, IBAN and signature circular. After approval, the first real job is not uploading products but building a pricing model that accounts for commission, shipping and the platform service fee.
Who can sell on Trendyol?
Trendyol does not accept individual sellers; you must be a registered taxpayer. One of three structures suffices: a sole proprietorship, a limited company or a joint-stock company.
Most newcomers start as a sole proprietorship because setup cost and accounting overhead are lower. As scale grows, two issues become decisive: tax bracket and liability. In a sole proprietorship, earnings are subject to progressive income tax and liability is personal; a limited company pays corporate tax and liability is limited to the company.
Which structure fits depends on your volume projection and is a decision to take with an accountant. Changing structure later is possible, but store history and reviews do not transfer to the new legal entity — which is why getting it right at the start has value.
Which documents does the application require?
The core documents requested in a Trendyol Partner application:
- Tax certificate or tradesman registry document
- Signature circular (for companies) or signature declaration
- IBAN details — the settlement account must be in the company's name
- Identity and contact information
- In some categories, a trademark registration or authorised reseller document
The last item is the most frequently overlooked. In brand-protected categories (cosmetics, electronics, certain apparel brands) you cannot list products without authorisation documents. Deciding which category you will sell in beforehand and checking its document requirements avoids weeks of waiting after applying.
Approval time varies with the completeness of the application and the category; track the current timeline through Trendyol Partner.
How do you build the commission and cost structure?
Trendyol commission is not a single flat rate: it is set per category and subcategory, varies with your seller tier, and is published VAT-inclusive. That last point is the most common new-seller mistake — adding VAT on top produces roughly a 20% double count.
Lines that belong in your profit calculation:
- Commission — read it from the category list in your Partner panel, do not estimate
- Platform service fee — per shipment, varying with the "Ships Today" label
- Shipping fee — the threshold is 350 TL, with different pricing above and below
- Return costs — return shipping and the return handling charge
- Product cost, packaging and any advertising

Why does shipping time determine your rating?
Seller performance on Trendyol depends largely on timing metrics, and the heaviest of these is on-time shipping. You are expected to hand an order to the carrier within a set window; missing it produces both customer dissatisfaction and a performance drop.
Labels such as "Fast Delivery" and "Ships Today" trade a shorter shipping commitment for a visibility advantage. This is a balance decision: taking a label you cannot honour is worse than not taking it at all.
The practical route for a new seller: work with the standard window for the first month, measure your own packing and dispatch speed, and move to a fast-delivery label only if your measured time sits clearly below the commitment.
What goes wrong in the first month?
- Listing many products without preparing the catalog. A catalog with inconsistent barcodes and SKUs breaks every later automation. Starting properly with few products is faster than starting messily with many.
- Setting prices without calculating commission. Pricing against a competitor without checking commission means direct loss in a high-commission category.
- Not taking product photography seriously. White background, multiple angles and real measurements are the three things that reduce return rate most.
- Delaying answers. Response time to customer questions is also a performance metric, and an unanswered question loses the sale outright.
- Underestimating returns. Returns are a normal part of e-commerce; growing volume before building the process locks up your operation.
Practical rules for descriptions and photos
The product title should carry the words a customer types into the search box — brand, product type, distinguishing feature, and size or colour where relevant. Keyword stuffing backfires; a readable, accurate title always works better.
Four things must appear in the description: what it does, measurements and material, box contents, and any usage or care note. Measurements matter most; a large share of returns come from "not what I expected", and the cure for that is not better photography but clearer dimensions.
What changes as you grow?
With one store and few products, manual management works. As product count and order volume rise, three jobs stop being doable by hand: stock synchronisation, answering customer questions, and per-product profitability tracking.
Pazaryeri Bot takes over those three: orders land in one panel, AI drafts answers to customer questions, and profitability is calculated from the order's real commission returned by the API. If you are considering adding a second marketplace, the marketplace integration guide is the place to start.
