Marketplace Commission and Profitability Calculator

Trendyol commission is not a single flat rate: it is defined per category and subcategory, it can change with seller tier, and the published rates already include VAT. This tool takes the product price, purchase cost, shipping fee and platform service fee together to produce net profit and profit margin.

How is Trendyol commission calculated?

Commission is charged on the sale price at a category-specific rate. Rates are defined per category and subcategory; in the current tariff the typical range is roughly 9% to 22.5%, rising to 30% in some special categories. Seller tier (Tier 1-5) and brand-specific agreements can change this rate.

The most common mistake is adding VAT on top of the commission. The rates Trendyol publishes already include VAT; adding VAT once more produces roughly a 20% double count and makes profit look lower than it is. On low-margin products this leads you to treat a correct price as a loss.

Which items enter the net profit calculation?

Commission alone is not enough. A realistic net profit requires deducting four items together:

Withholding tax is a separate heading: a 1% deduction is applied to marketplace payouts, but because it is offsettable it is not included in product cost or pricing decisions; it affects cash flow, not profitability.

How do the shipping fee and the threshold work?

Shipping is calculated from one of two lists depending on the order total. If the order total is 350 TRY or above, the Contracted Shipping desi list applies; orders below that amount fall under the lower band and are charged a fixed fee defined per carrier.

Below-threshold pricing differs by carrier and by whether the shipment falls under fast delivery. For low-priced products shipping can therefore become a larger cost item than commission; bundle sales that lift the basket above the threshold are useful exactly at this point.

Estimated rate or actual rate?

For a pre-sale pricing decision the estimated rate from the category table is used; with no order yet placed, that is the only option available.

When calculating the profit of an order that has actually occurred, the most accurate source is the order itself: the Trendyol order and settlement API returns the real commission rate and amount for that line. PazaryeriBot stores this value on the order line and uses it instead of the estimated rate in realised profitability. The table is therefore only for pre-sale estimation.

Frequently asked questions

Is VAT added to the Trendyol commission?

No. The published commission rates include VAT. Adding VAT on top of that rate causes roughly a 20% double count and misstates the profit calculation.

Why does the commission rate differ between products?

Because the rate is category and subcategory based; two products sold in the same store fall under different commissions if they sit in different categories. Seller tier and brand-specific rates also apply.

Can the calculation be done for Hepsiburada and ÇiçekSepeti too?

Yes. The tool applies the relevant commission and deduction structure for the selected marketplace; the logic is the same, only the rates and service fee items change.

When do I receive the payment?

The settlement term varies by category; in most categories it is 28 business days after delivery. The term does not change profit, it determines cash flow.
